Background

The Bolton by Bowland and Gisburn Forest Neighbourhood Plan is the opportunity for the designated area to influence planning and development decisions made by Ribble Valley Borough Council over future years.

Once adopted The Neighbourhood Plan will become part of the Ribble Valley Core Strategy. The Plan will need to be consulted whenever planning and development decisions are made which impact on the designated area. The topics covered by the Neighbourhood Plan are:

  • Transport
  • Communications
  • Housing
  • Environment
  • Employment

The development of the Neighbourhood Plan is being led by a steering committee and leads for each topic areas. A series of consultations will be conducted during the project. A referendum will finally decide if the Plan is to be adopted by the parishes.
